During Royalmount’s entire construction period, information on the progress of development will be available on this page.
Regular updates will be made to inform you of the next steps, with a first phase planned for 2023.

Construction work paused
Following the Quebec government's announcement, construction work on the Royalmount project was temporarily halted in the spring of 2020 to support the fight against the spread of the coronavirus. Work will resume in a gradual and orderly fashion in 2021.

Work in progress
Excavation work is underway and will continue until spring 2020. Contractor: Roxboro Excavation Inc.
For your information, please note that for approximately three (3) weeks starting mid-September, pipe lining work will be carried out on Décarie at the corner of highways 15 and 40. This work will be initiated by the Town of Mount Royal and could impede traffic.
To learn more about the progress of the lagging work, visit the Ville de Mont-Royal website.

Low nuisance worksite
We have an air quality plan in place for workers and will conduct weekly pollution prevention checks.

A reduced impact on the environment
We are the first private developer to voluntarily use Traces Québec and are doing so to manage the site’s 7,000 tonnes of contaminated soil. 88% of the materials from demolition will be recovered and recycled and our new project will incorporate local and recycled materials. We will also use a concrete plant to bring materials closer to the construction site.

Work to be done in the coming months
– Installation of tower cranes on the construction site.
– Development of new entrances to the site.
– Arrival of seven new cranes at the worksite on February 29, 2020.
– Opening of the concrete plant.
– Signage plan for concrete mixers.

Work schedule
Most of the work is carried out Monday to Friday, between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. as well as between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Please note that municipal bylaws allow work to be carried out on Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
